04 Oct World Record Zorbathon
We are so proud to be associated with the World Record Zorbathon and the 5 castle challenge.
2 years ago we were contacted by Andy Gray – MD of the
3S-Team CIC
Shape Success through Sport
Andy wanted to break a world record “running in a zorb”.
2 years later, the 5 castle challenge represents 3 days of 20 miles a day running in a zorb and believe us when we tell you, that is no easy task.
Andy and his team finished the 60 mile endurance event with time to spare.
“My Dad, brother and I are all Newcastle season ticket holders and the half time race in giant zorb balls (made by Megaflatables) always amuses us. It was one half time sat with my Dad that I said, ‘Dad that’s the next challenge.’
“This idea was rubbished by so many people originally and people were saying it was impossible however as I told them, surviving MND is impossible, walking in giant inflatables is just hard work.
My Father was diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease almost 2 years ago. It is sad to watch someone who has been such an important figure and huge influence on your life slowly deteriorate, knowing there is nothing you or anyone else can do.
We are fortunate to have a great family and great friends who want nothing more than to help us raise awareness of this tragic disease.”
