Megaflatables was proud to collaborate with acclaimed artistic duo Craig & Karl on Under the Sun—a vibrant, large-scale inflatable installation created for ICD Brookfield Place.
Centred around an inflatable sun and surrounded by colourful, nature-inspired sculptures, the installation brings the outdoors inside through an immersive and playful visitor experience.
Craig & Karl wanted to transform their distinctive artistic style into a series of monumental inflatable sculptures.
Suspended throughout the atrium, the installation needed to make full use of the venue’s impressive height and scale. It was designed to encourage visitors to explore the artwork from every angle, moving around, beneath and through the sculptures.
Each piece also needed to work harmoniously within the surrounding space while retaining its own strong visual identity.
Working closely with Craig & Karl, the Megaflatables team transformed their creative vision into a collection of bespoke inflatable artworks ranging from 5 to 7 metres in height.
Translated the artists’ concepts into practical inflatable designs while preserving their signature shapes, colours and character.
Carefully considered the scale, structure and positioning of each sculpture to ensure it worked effectively within the atrium.
Selected suitable materials and finishes to achieve the bold colours, clean lines and high-quality appearance required.
Manufactured each sculpture with precision, bringing the complete collection together as one cohesive installation.
The completed installation transformed the atrium into a bold and playful landscape, bringing Craig & Karl’s distinctive artistic vision to life on a monumental scale.
Encouraged visitors to move around and beneath the suspended sculptures, experiencing the artwork from multiple perspectives.
Inflatable sculptures measuring between 5 and 7 metres created an immediate and memorable visual presence throughout the space.
The design team worked closely with Craig & Karl creating a true reflection of their work into inflatable form.
