Megaflatables worked with artist Bruce Asbestos and UNIQLO to bring the giant inflatable artwork Dash to life at Tate Modern. The piece placed a playful, large-scale inflatable sculpture into a major gallery setting.
This project, with artist Bruce Asbestos and UNIQLO, needed the artist’s giant inflatable artwork “Dash” brought to life at Tate Modern. The brief was to create a playful, large-scale inflatable sculpture true to the artist’s vision that could sit safely and impactfully within a major gallery setting.

We adapted Bruce Asbestos’s “Dash” artwork into a giant inflatable sculpture, ensuring a faithful, gallery-ready result for Tate Modern.

The installation transformed Tate Modern into a bold, immersive space. The giant inflatable “Dash” sculpture brought energy and movement into the gallery, but more importantly, it had that instant “wow” factor. Inflatables just work for this, they’re big, unexpected, and hard to ignore. People notice them straight away, and more importantly, they remember them. They also photograph really well. The scale, colour, and soft forms make them perfect for social content, so people naturally stop, take photos, and share them without being asked. It turns the space into something more than just a display, it becomes part of the experience. As a result:
