The brief was to produce a bespoke inflatable hammerhead shark that would complement the wildlife theme of Steve Backshall Live and create a striking visual feature for visitors at Chester Zoo.
The inflatable needed to capture the instantly recognisable characteristics of a hammerhead shark while being large and impactful enough to stand out alongside the event’s live stage.
The project involved creating a custom inflatable replica based on the distinctive appearance of a hammerhead shark.
Key design features included its wide, hammer-shaped head, streamlined body and realistic detailing, ensuring the finished inflatable was immediately recognisable to visitors.
Positioned beside the live stage at Chester Zoo, its larger-than-life scale helped create an impressive visual focal point within the event space.

Before leaving our warehouse, the inflatable was fully inflated, inspected and thoroughly tested to ensure it met our high standards and was ready for a seamless installation at the event.
Our experienced event management team delivered, installed and securely inflated the structure on-site, remaining throughout the premiere to monitor the inflatable and ensure it performed flawlessly for the duration of the event. Once the event concluded, our team efficiently deflated, packed away and removed the inflatable, providing Chester Zoo with a hassle-free, turnkey solution from start to finish.
